We all have the same number of hours in a day, so average hours spent per friend goes way down, the younger someone gets.
GenXers have more friends on average than the Dunbar number. Does this prove that Facebook connections aren't just friends, despite the name?
The amount of people most users actually interact with on a regular basis fits nicely into Dunbar's theory:
