Handy if unspectacular campground for trips to Tahoe or Reno, because it is open earlier and later in the season than most. In the summer the campsites can be hectic because they are very close together.

The thing to remember is that Highway 89 S takes a sharp turn at Tahoe City... and if you keep going straight, you'll end up on the North Shore and eventually in Nevada. As soon as you can see Lake Tahoe clearly from the road, if it's on your right-hand side you're going the wrong way. Also the road is very ill-lit at night and it's difficult to see the turnoff to the campground. Look for the town of Tahoma where the road will leave the lakeside, and it's a couple miles south of that.
