Twitter busying employee stock with half it's $800M in funding
Jonathan Nelson stashed this in Fixitfixitfixit!
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-07-22/twitter- Wow. I wonder if it's going to IPO soon like Groupon, or is it going to use this to give its employees some liquidity and hang on for another couple of years before it IPOs?
Can't edit miss spelling in title. :(
Sorry Jonathan, title-editing shipping next week!
:) No worries.
Who, besides investors, does it make a difference to whether Twitter goes public now or later?
In general, delaying going public as long as possible is better for the company because it allows the company to hide details from competitors. This is the Facebook strategy.
This is balanced by investors' need or liquidity, but secondary markets are now able to fill much of that need.
