Bike commuting tip: float your feet on the pedals

There's a stereotype that you have to HAMMER or MASH down on the pedals to go faster on the bike... but that is actually the opposite of the truth. Efficient cyclists actually put the least pressure on the pedals during the upstroke.

My mental trick is to remind myself that my feet should be FLOATING on the pedals. It's surprising how much focusing on the feet relaxes the large muscles, reduces fatigue, and helps you enjoy being on the bike longer!
