It's summer and time for all Californians to bust out the grill for Santa Maria style tri-tip, beans, and salsa. My tip for the salsa: if you make it with 4 different colors of tomatoes, it tastes even more awesome and people will eat it by the GALLON.
Color of tomatoes correlates with taste? Any particular type of tomato you recommend?
I don't know if color of tomatoes correlates with taste, but I do know that 1) a variety of tomatoes is always to the good; and 2) if the salsa is pretty, people will eat more. That is why I pay extra for red onions and Fresno chiles for this dish.
Makes sense that visual appeal is key when making the salsa.
