I don't think you always need to blame the messenger. Sometimes it takes an outsider to explain to people what the risks and benefits are.

Also, Scott's blog post message really is a variation on: Fake it till you make it.
What this underplays is how hard it is to look big when you're first getting started.
A newborn cannot walk; first we must learn to crawl.
And frankly, there's a difference between knowing the path and crawling the path.
