I wrote this by way of public apology to the memory of a really good teacher. 

Funny how our perception changes as we grow. The educator in this story never guessed he'd be teaching me a career lesson a couple decades later, but that, I guess, is how it usually goes. We save memories, and they pop out when we're ready to process them.
