I've always thought that if humanity had a prima materia, reusable and recyclable, with which to build everything from clothes to toys to tools, it would revolutionize how we consume, coexist, collaborate, and create. Many of the monocrystalline carbon technologies described in the last 15 years or so sound like they have a range of properties versatile enough to make a small family of prima materia. With a baseline of expectations and processes based on a small cluster of materials, we then have engineering "legos", and anything becomes possible.
