#5. Think of death.

When I used to do grief counseling, people always asked how I could do the work with out being depressed.  While the answer is complicated, what I can say is that being present with people that were coming to the end of their lives brought my life into clearer focus.  It taught me to be grateful for the smaller things in my life, worry less, stay in the moment and invest more time in nurturing the relationships in my life.
