How I wish that there were more teachers like this.  What happened to the lost art of rewriting your paper to learn from your mistakes?  How do we learn without these corrections?  Today's kids have to get an A the first time. If they don't get the A, they are not expected to rewrite.  They are lucky if they get their papers back before the next one is due.  Teachers don't have time is what I usually hear.  And then, of course, they all have to teach to tests to keep their jobs.   How I wish the world was filled with teachers like Bill Exley and that teachers like him would be revered.

He's right -- the best way to learn is to make mistakes and then understand what went wrong.
