One Kings Lane
Justin Caldbeck stashed this in Fixitfixitfixit!
I'm genuinely curious what sets One Kings Lane apart from Gilt Groupe, Fab.com, and other Flash Sales sites.
TechCrunch calls the firm niche but I don't think that's fair, since they could break out of home decor and into other Flash Sales spaces.
One Kings Lane has 2 million people who have ever used the service; do they have a common culture or a common buying pattern? They seem to prefer luxury items at non-luxury prices.
If Groupon or Living Social wanted to go into Flash Sales for home decor, would they be better off partnering with One Kings Lane or competing with them?
Is there a reason One Kings Lane users are loyal to One Kings Lane? Or would those users flock to Amazon or Overstock, if Amazon or Overstock offered deeper discounts in Flash Sales on beautiful home merchandise?
All of these questions boil down to one for me: Does One Kings Lane have network effects?
