Amazing breakthrough if it can be scaled up: turn a gross-looking algae slurry into crude oil in minutes.
I've been following the green crude saga. They're getting close to the point production will scale and use the same exact refineries as traditional crude. Some people still hate any type of fuel you have to burn. I think it's brilliant, will completely decimate the political incentives for bad actors, and completely change the economics of global distribution.
The ability to feed current processing infrastructure is a huge deal. I, for one, welcome the end of our al qaida supporting overlords!
