Scientists are stretching the boundaries of understanding what happens as the body dies - and learning more about ways to perhaps interrupt the process, which takes longer than we might suppose.
Very interesting, a lot of ethics involved here. Who do you let go because it's the right time for a natural death, a 90 year old? a 60 year old with multiple chronic diseases? Who do you keep alive with any new technology to extend life? The destitute 35 year old addict? The 50 year old developmentally disabled? It will add more challenge to our already overextended healthcare issues, but how can we not explore it...
