With all the new year resolutions coming, I thought I'd share how I started working out, running and eating healthy to help some people out. When I first started a few months ago, I could hardly do a pushup, or run down the block. I can now run 3 miles, and I'm overall much stronger and healthier! Just remember when working out, always listen to your body. If you need a rest day, take one, or more than one. If you're hungry, eat. Its not good to ignore what your body is trying to tell you.
This is an amazing website. I found it a couple months ago on imgur, and I use it almost every day. It has over 100 themed workouts to get you motivated, recipes, motivation and some 30 day challenges. You can do these all at home, there is no equipment except for maybe a box or weights if you want a bit of a challenge. Heres one that is good for abs, you'll feel the burn during of this one, I use it all the time. Whats great about these workouts is that they have different set levels, so If you're not sure where to begin, start low and work your way up. If level one is too hard, do what you can do and listen to your body. Under each workout it also tells you what muscle groups it works, which is nice.
Some of them are superhero themed. Sometimes I watch the movies and work out at the same time. You can also modify these workouts. If you're not fond of a certain move, (for me its sit-ups, ugh) skip it, switch it for something else, make it easier by maybe supporting yourself with something or make it more difficult by adding your own weights. You don't need to do exactly what the website says, its good to listen to your body so you don't get hurt.
This one is good for legs. Its also a good example of how you can modify workouts; for the squats, I try to work out more muscle groups by doing 10 squats like it shows, and 10 sumo squats. You don't have to, you can do whatever type of squats you want, just remember to be smart about it and don't hurt yourself.
