2014 World Economic Freedom Report
Janill Gilbert stashed this in Money
What did we learn from this?
Canada has better economic freedom than the US. South America has pockets of freedom (Columbia & Chile), but the rest of the countries are varying degrees of bad. In the Asia and Pacific region, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan have the best economic freedom. Africa looks to have it worse overall in the world. Hong Kong is #1, and the US is #12, the US has been losing it's ground with economic freedoms.
I was surprised by how many countries had problems with property rights, something I very much take for granted, and people in this country constantly complain about the government intruding on their property rights, if they only knew!
Perhaps they complain so things won't get worse.
But yeah, it's fascinating how behind America is when it comes to economic freedoms.
