The Power of Together
Dream Development stashed this in What If? Why Not? Who Says?
Redwood trees are the largest, tallest and longest living trees in the world; withstanding fires, floods and storms. The power of these 350 ft trees is not in their shallow roots (only 6 feet deep), rather in the connectedness of roots which often fuse together, and may expand a width of 100 feet. While I prefer deeply rooted friendships, relationships and partnerships, I defer to the depth of connection.
The power of what we can do together is not based on shallowness or depth but based on authentic relationships (new or old) intertwined by common values and visions tested by weathering life’s fires, floods and storms.
In his letter from a Birmingham jail, Dr. King once said, “We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.”
