Addicted smokers in New York's lowest income group spend nearly a quarter of their household income on cigarettes, study says.
Wow. That's so sad.
Yet we give full access to this addictive plant, allow it to be pumped up with chemicals recognized to be carcinogens and encourage kids to use it through campaigns and ads. What the fuck is wrong with our societal thinking? Stop the war on pot and allocate some of the wasted $$$ used to fight it to smoking cessation programs in these very neighborhoods. Vote!
