Fincher's Serial Killer Trilogy: Girl with Dragon Tattoo Builds on Se7en and Zodiac's Lone Rangers
Waylan Choy stashed this in Film & Cinema
"Classic film noir dealt with masculinity in crisis, and "Zodiac" is a perfect neo-noir because it is largely about men who fail."
Zodiac has no clear ending. It just goes on and on until finally the movie just gives up.
isn't a formal resolution impossible based on the nature of the real story? wasn't Zodiac more about obsession and unending pursuit than being a crime procedural with a crime solved?
Yes, although in real life as well as the movie, the person they suspected about halfway through almost certainly was the person who did it. Both the movie and real life evidence point to him but he died before they could bring him to justice.
