A few days ago, construction of the 12,000-square-meter LEGO experience center in Denmark began with the laying down of the first bricks on what is being called a place for people to have the “ultimate LEGO experience.”
Danish architect Bjarke Ingels and his firm, the Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), are leading the project, which is scheduled to be completed in 2016.
The “LEGO House” is located in the small town of Billund, which happens to be the hometown of the LEGO Group. As part of the opening ceremonies, three generations of the family that owns LEGO laid down six foundation blocks, which represented classic LEGO bricks and the values that guide the experience of playing with LEGO – Learning, Caring, Quality, Imagination, Creativity, and Fun.
