Tim Cook spoke on Apple's decision to buy Beats, reiterating many of the reasons behind the acquisition. "Jimmy and Dre are off the charts creative geniuses," said Cook, pointing towards Iovine's knowledge of the music industry and Dre's connection to artists. He also said that Beats Music's human curation was a major factor in the acquisition.
Nowadays everybody wanna talk like they got something to say but nothing comes out when they move their lips...
Is "human curation" a thing? Because if it is I want in. I want to curate a human.
It's not a thing but it should be a thing.
He was referring to playlist curation by humans, not curation OF humans btw.
My favorite part of the interview is when he points out that Google and Facebook make money using your personal information -- he actually uses the phrase "you are the product" -- whereas Apple makes money by selling you great hardware.
