An American won the World Poutine Eating Championship in Toronto Saturday by consuming large amounts of the dish native to Canada.
Matt "Megatoad" Stonie, 22, of San Jose, Calif. won the bout, which had contestants eating a concoction of french fries, gravy and cheese curds, known as "poutine." Poutine is a French-Canadian dish born out of rural Quebec in the 1950s.
