A mentor can be a valuable asset to a new business. Most startup founders have a do-it-yourself attitude, but that attitude’s not always going to get you ahead when you’re trying to get your foot in the door.
Nobody knows everything about every aspect of a tech business. Look for a mentor who has some of the skills you may be lacking right now, such as dealing with customers, financial management or launching a product or service.
Most mentors right now are booked solid.

Very true, and often the same mentors are spread across multiple accelerators or startups. In the current model. Maybe we should change how they engage and get smart about reducing the time mentors need to add real value. Watch this space.
