TC Cribs: Famo.us, The Startup Office That Feels Like Home (Because It Used To Be One)
J Thoendell stashed this in Tech
A lot of tech companies try to make their offices feel as homey as possible for the comfort of their employees, but Famo.us just might take the cake. That’s because Famo.us is actually headquartered in what used to be CEO Steve Newcomb’s actual home. A few years ago, he was looking for an office to house his growing company — but he couldn’t find a space that he liked as much as his apartment in San Francisco. So he eventually decided to just stay where he was, knock down the walls, and turn it all into one big office.
The result is a really comfortable and quirky space, complete with kitchens, bathrooms, and even showers. It’s a place where Famo.us employees and community members can work hard, play hard, and also sleep it all off if need be– basically the full spectrum of working and living.
So basically no work-life balance because you're expected to sleep and shower there.
Funny that it's AngelList's old place and Steve Newcomb lived down the hall from Naval!
