Sweet Wheels For Our Sweetheart - YouCaring
Jared Sperli stashed this in charity
Valentine's Day is our niece Ellyn's birthday! This year she will be 11 years old and she is truly our family's sweetheart. She has severe autism, is almost entirely non-verbal, has gross motor and fine motor challenges and the sweetest smile ever when you can catch it!
Ellyn is the most happy when she is being active and spending time outside. She is also a huge adrenaline junkie who loves to go fast!
Here's why we need your pledge. Ellyn has outgrown all the gear her family has used to keep her involved in family outdoor activities. She can no longer fit in a jogging stroller, or her bike trailer. Unfortunately, she is unable to take assisted rides on scooters or trikes.
We want Ellyn to continue to join in all the fun and healthy family activities she has in the past. We don't want Ellyn to be left with a sitter while her family goes for a bike ride or to have the whole family stay home and miss out on being the outdoor loving, active, family they have always been.
Unfortunately special needs adaptive equipment for adults with special needs (Ellyn is already 5 ft. and growing) costs thousands of dollars, and insurance has turned her parents down for anything besides a wheelchair. Her dad Mike is in the Army and Brooke works hard to meet the demands of caring for Ellyn and their three other children. Although they want to do what is best for Ellyn, they can't do it alone!
