Shark Tank DIY Special Ink Sun Printing on Tee Shirts using Sunshine Silk Screen Kit Lumi
Adam Rifkin stashed this in DIY
The Lumi DIY Textile Printing Technology is so cool I'm not sure where to begin. After watching several videos on the Lumi screen printing kits, this is one Shark Tank product that's going to become a Huge Success, in fact it already is. The Lumi Co technology creates prints on textiles, fabric and even leather with a process once thought impossible.
The inventor of the Lumi Inkodye is Jesse Genet, who appeared on Shark Tank. Jesse has been working on this patented screen printing process since She was 16 years old using the Sun's light to transfer onto fabric. Depending on the Sunlight, clouds, and shadows, the Lumi Inkodye will develop a one-of-a-kind masterpiece with color combinations made by Nature Herself. The Lumi Co first formed into a Business in 2009, when Genet and Stephan Ango met at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. With this unique screen printing process already proven to print on just about anything, the passionate entrepreneurs successfully ran a crowd funding campaign at Kickstarter in January of 2010. The video below was in the first of two successful crowdfunding campaigns that certainly helped get the attention of the Producers for the Shark Tank Show.
As entertaining as the first Lumi video is, it wasn't until the second Kickstarter project's video two years later that goes into more detail how this revolutionary screen printing process works. Jesse and Ango started the second campaign with a $50,000.00 goal that raised over $268,000.00 in July of 2012 from 3550 financial backers. It's easy to see anyone interested in photography or creating brand new one-of-a-kind items, would love the Lumi Inkodye Kits after watching this easy step-by-step video demonstration.
By all accounts the reviews for the Lumi Sun Screen Printing Kits are all positive giving this product 5 Stars out of 5. The process is so easy everyone can now make customized screen prints at a fraction of the cost compared to traditional methods. The fact you can take a picture from your smartphone and screen print it on any fabric, (t-shirts, coats, purses, tennis shoes, furniture, etc.) is just a really cool invention!
Robert, Mr Wonderful, and Lori were all interested but Lumi left without a deal.
Mark Cuban applauded them for sticking to their guns and walking away.
