11 Quotes That Will Completely Change the Way You Think About Porn

In an interview with Danish public broadcaster DR, Christian Graugaard, a professor and sex researcher at Aalborg University, proposed introducing porn into public sex education. The point, he said, is not to encourage porn viewing, but to go into sex ed acknowledging that the vast majority of teens already have access to it.

School-based sex ed can give young people an appropriate perspective on porn, teaching them that what they see on-screen won't likely be mirrored in their real sex lives (no, women can't necessarily reach orgasm in a matter of minutes) and isn't necessarily something to emulate (no, not everyone person wants to be touched like that).

Not sure which photo you were stashing from that page. Amy Poehler?

And yeah it's important to give young people perspective. Without that they might think porn is real.

That's the one that I chose since there didn't seem to be a better summary image.

There are several points being made.  That's one of them.  The others: Porn is something most people look at and that, if you keep in mind that it usually isn't realistic and select for what is appropriate for you, that there's nothing wrong with that.  It might be beneficial for multiple reasons.  And, assuming the person has the right attitude and situation, performing in porn isn't a terrible thing.

Porn doesn't really need to be defended much because it is going to happen and be sought out anyway, but some people make decisions with particular questionable assumptions.  That doesn't always turn out optimally.  Questionable assumptions are no basis for a system of thinking. (In your best Monte Python tone.)

Ok I added Amy Poehler back.

I guess teenagers really do have to learn what's real and what's not.

Rather than let them just try to figure it out on their own, which rarely works.
