Also why HIV in Florida?

Shocking statistics and no answer to why:

The number of people living with HIV/AIDS in Miami-Dade County has increased by 23% from 2004 to 2014.

Needs Assessment data from the Miami-Dade HIV/AIDS Partnership for 2014 indicate that while Blacks represent 16% of the general population, they make up 38% and 48% of the HIV/AIDS population respectively.

Hispanics, while they make up 67% of the county’s general population represented 51% and 44% of HIV/AIDS cases reported in 2013 respectively.

Well that's eye opening. I had no idea. And I still have no idea why.

Miami/Dade and Ft Lauderdale/Broward clearly have something to do with it.

oh great.  i'm in the very next county!  it better not be in the water. ;)

and i was told by three different people that 40% of people over 40 have herpes in florida.  probably just something that's fun to say though, because—catchy as it sounds—i have found no article anywhere with that statistic.

A few years ago I heard about Florida being overrun by herpes-infected monkeys...

...but geez has this PandaWhale page escalated quickly.

A few years ago before that Reston Virginia almost had an outbreak of Ebola-infected monkeys....

I'm seeing a trend here.

The trend is that there's a lot of monkeys on the loose in America?

You could make a card game out of it.  Exploding monkeys.  You pick a type of monkey card, a deadly disease card, and a city in the US card.  Voila. Or maybe do it like Clue.  You pick three cards and hide them in the middle face down, and then the players run around the board trying to guess the three cards.

Excuse me, was it a baby marmoset, in Los Angeles, with Dengue fever?  No, you are incorrect Colonel Mustard!

The Oatmeal guy would like that game idea.

the oatmeal guy?  you mean the quaker?
