Even the microbiome in our SPIT is different for obese vs non-obese humans! Turns out obese spit makes it harder to taste subtle compounds, which might in turn make for different food choices.

Still unclear whether a lower olfactory stimulation due to saliva composition is a co-factor in the development/maintenance of obesity.

Is it correlation or causation? They don't know yet.
