A Rocky First Review for a Climate Paper Warning of a Stormy Coastal Crisis
Joyce Park stashed this in Science
Fascinating look at one of the most ambitious scientific manifestos published recently about global warming. As the writer here says, "This is how we do it" -- or specifically this is the process these days by which the science is made. The big deal here for me is: look at how the internet, and the global communication it has enabled, has changed something as long-scale as EARTH SCIENCE into something urgent and real-time. Geologists are posting videos of their Skype calls with each other! This is all still pretty new in terms of being "official" science, and it's so cool to see the change in methodological mindset as it's happening.
You're right, this is a fascinating process.
