In the 1930s, Stalin forcibly removed almost 175,000 ethnic Koreans from the eastern part of the Soviet Union to Kazakhstan. The result almost a century later is middleweight boxing champion Gennady Golovkin -- now a resident of Los Angeles, yet seemingly unknown to most Koreans there. I knew he was half-Korean as soon as I watched him fight... his calves are very Korean looking!
