While some kids were downright heroic, the 13-year old who made sandwiches for her dad and the 5-year old who snuck the "baby cow" inside for snuggles aww-ed me.

I liked the kids who wanted to help the homeless. It's easy to like your parents, and puppies, and kittens. Pretty hard to like homeless people!

Agreed, this is wonderful:

#1 How My Son Wanted To Spend The $120 He Saved This Year. Saturday Morning, My Son Walked Into My Room And Said He Wanted To Use His Money To Help The Homeless. I Asked Him What He Had In Mind, And He Said He Wanted To Make Them Lunches

Plus the two homeless helper kids seemed to have a sense of true accomplishment based on their body language. Not that plain old empathy isn't important and awesome... but it's pretty inspiring for even me as a quasi-adult to see kids who PLANNED and EXECUTED on complex emotions.

You're right, that boy does wear triumphant body language. 

Because, as the title implies, PARENTING.  I'd love to observe what goes on in the day-to-day lives of these families.

You're right that the photos probably reflect what those parents value.
