Diversity in a brogrammer culture? Good luck with that. "A bros-only atmosphere will hurt no one more than the startups that foster it. "We simply cannot afford to alienate large chunks of the workforce," notes Dan Shapiro, a tech entrepreneur who sold his comparison-shopping company to Google and now works there as a product manager. Shapiro, who has blogged in the past about sexism in the tech industry, notes that "it is a widely understood truth that the single biggest challenge to a successful startup is attracting the right people. To literally handicap yourself by 50 percent is insanity." "

You're right that there's no diversity in brogrammer culture.

This Mother Jones article is from 2012 btw and here are some notes:

Ah, this is old news than :)

Old news but a good reminder Masha!

While working my niche strap, the second person I called... First other than my brother, was a Korean female.

A woman who I'm good friends with and who I know is very technically proficient and great with the details. She knows what questions to ask when I night gloss over something. She can speak up if I miss a point or haven't addressed a development issue.  Isn't that what you look for in an employee?

I don't care what race or gender you are I'm looking for skills

Attitude is as important as skills. Maybe more important.
