As a rule of thumb the best way is to look at your urine, if it is plentiful and clear then you are sufficiently hydrated. If your urine is yellow and limited then you are dehydrated and should drink more water. Drink little and often to avoid dehydration, but there really is no exact number of glasses of water to consume each day as there are so many variables that need to be taken into account.
