The occasional great comment makes up for all the bad comments, spammers, and trolls. 

I wonder how many meaningful comments (points of view, etc.) are obscured because of the childish, derogatory words expressing them. Sifting through garbage.

Probably a lot of insight is compromised by inability to communicate. 

On the positive side, insights and ideas could be picked up by the people who gravitate to the 'garbage' read. They purposely ignore more polite, mainstream reading. Market to the demographic.

People who can sift through comments for the gems are very valuable people.
