This isn't just any idiot.

Broun is top ranking member of the United States House Committee on Science, Space and Technology.

In this video he tells the crowd the bible has done much more than teach him how live a good Christian life — it opened his eyes to the reality obscured by such things as empirical data and scientific consensus.

This former medical doctor once "believed" in things like evolution, the Big Bang theory, and embryology, but no more: Now he knows those things are "lies straight from the pit of Hell":

And it's lies to try to keep me and all the folks who are taught that from understanding that they need a savior. You see, there are a lot of scientific data that I found out as a scientist that actually show that this is really a young Earth. I don't believe that the Earth is but about 9,000 years old. I believe it was created in six days as we know them. That's what the bible says!

He makes our laws regarding science.

He hates science.

He chairs The House Subcommittee on Investigations and Oversight.

#entitled to your own opinion failure

Not just that but he makes the standards and laws in America.

Maybe we should change the way the House of Representatives works so that the country can vote out people who are not in our best interest.

Even Scientific American says religion can be compatible with evolution, the Big Bang, and science:

Hey, I'm being followed by monkeys!!

Evolution funny

Does he oppose space exploration, health physics, bioinformatics, hadron colliders, and stem-cell research?

Fundamentalist believe in scriptural literalism.
