How NOT to Contact Recruiters
Dave Gullo stashed this in Recruiters
❝ That said, there are some requests that cross the line, in my opinion, and I think that jobseekers should be careful to leverage their network without taking advantage of it. ❞
I think the contrapositive for recruiters on how not to recruit engineers:
- Do NOT call my existing place of work looking to poach me... especially if you don't even bother to email me first.
- Do NOT ask me to forward a job to a friend, they can kill their own meat. I have never met a geek that needed me to help them find a job.
- READ my profile and see that I'm not looking for new offers, and that I would like you to not ask me to forward a job to my network.
- Sure I'll meet for coffee... my standard contracting rate is $XXX
