I think the contrapositive for recruiters on how not to recruit engineers:

  • Do NOT call my existing place of work looking to poach me... especially if you don't even bother to email me first.
  • Do NOT ask me to forward a job to a friend, they can kill their own meat. I have never met a geek that needed me to help them find a job.
  • READ my profile and see that I'm not looking for new offers, and that I would like you to not ask me to forward a job to my network.
  • Sure I'll meet for coffee... my standard contracting rate is $XXX

Wait a minute. You mean people actually contact recruiters?
