The Narcissism Of Minor Silicon Valley Differences | TechCrunch
Ottway Ducard stashed this in startups
I had to think about this:
As Elad Gil points out, in the past 10 years, only five startups have hit valuations over $5 billion like Facebook has, and only two of those companies have exceeded a $10 billion market cap, LinkedIn and Facebook. 90% of all startups started eventually stop.
Really? Just two companies?
As much as tech journalists love Nate Silver, I'd hardly wager they are equally competent at mathematics, statistics, or even simple data gathering.
Also, by "startups," assume they mean "consumer internet startups," but even then...is this accurate?
