Can you imagine Dave writing something thoughtful like this?

Dave is probably a living hell for people who enjoy this:

the quiet ones

I cannot imagine Dave writing an essay like this.

YCombinator is definitely a different style than 500 Startups.

There have been some 500 Startups companies that are also YC companies, though.

Clever marketing; any other investor invests in YC companies they don't hoot it and toot it and pump their own horn. 500 startups are shameless in their self-promotion.

I like that Sacca disses on people for this:

There are YC companies that 500 s partners invest in, like any other partner; there are rarely -- if ever -- 500 companies that then go into YC. And if 500 was good, why would they go and do YC after?

This essay is brilliant.
