Farm Frens, a popular Telegram game admits their FREN token launch was a mess, telling ‘Dear Frens, we fucked up’ in the X post shared by Frencoin. The FREN token was launched on the Ethereum layer 2 network, Base earlier this week.
Famous Telegram game, Farm Frens has admitted their FREN token launch was error-filled and shared a number of next moves in its roadmap to regain the trust of its players and investors.
For the token generation event scheduled for February, the team faced technical issues with all the major components of the event, including token allocation, claiming, and staking. In addition, Frensurance, an innovative mechanism introduced by the Frens team, which taxed transferred airdrop claims also faced issues.
Farm Frens Project Founder, Kaizen, Breakdowns The Errors
Following the failure of the token generation event the team has admitted their mistakes and the pseudonymous project founder, Kaizen detailed the errors.
According to his analysis, the biggest issue was on token claims, preventing some unlucky users from receiving their token allocation. He shared that the team had thought it would be a great idea to subsidize gas fees for everyone during the airdrop claim. He added that their tests on local nodes were successful and it was surprising to see the mainnet being significantly slower than the tests.
In his post, he revealed that after the TGE went live, they began noticing that many users were receiving claiming errors, some users were lucky so they got the claim while others couldn’t. He added that the claiming issue and the token balances failed to appear after a claim had been rectified and those who still facing issues while claiming the FREN token can use the contract form to list their issue.
Kaizen asked apology for all the technical issues encountered by users while claiming the token. He also denied the rumors spreading among the community members that the technical issues were intentional.
Farm Frenz’s Delayed Token Launch
Farm Frenz scheduled its FREN token launch on Base, layer 2 chain in January, but delayed the launch after Telegram, the messaging platform in which Farm Frenz incorporates, announced an exclusivity deal with The Open Network (TON) for crypto integrations. The deal necessitates any games or mini-apps built on Telegram to migrate to TON or remove their blockchain functionality.
Though TON was originally created within Telegram, the messaging platform dumped the project due to regulatory scrutiny back in 2020. However, since 2023, Telegram has been closely associated with the TON.
This Telegram deal made Farm Frenz realign their roadmap, the team has planned to create a standalone wallet and expand to other platforms. The expansion plan includes a launch on Line, a popular messaging app in Japan. Its latest roadmap also reveals a plan to launch a new season of in-game content during its launch on Line app in Q2.
The Farm Frenz game enables users to manage a farm and earn rewards in the form of a FREN token. The first postponement and the technical issues later faced on the launch have lessened the interest of investors in this coin, the FREN coin is currently down 9% in the last 24 hours.
