Warriors new arena plan
The Warriors don't want their destiny to be controlled by the SF Giants... they want to own their own stadium.
Either way, nothing but good news. Between the center of Silicon Valley moving to SOMA, America's Cup (at least once) and an NBA team moving downtown, San Francisco is in for good times. Really good times.
I concur. Get the Warriors out of Oracle Arena asap, into a place where headliners WANT to play.
No doubt that's the mindset of new ownership, and thank goodness for that. Hence the pursuit of Dwight Howard, the trade for Bogut, etc. These guys aren't playing around.
I have no doubt that there will be a 1st class NBA arena and a contender in downtown SF in the next 3-5 years.
Agreed.
Thanks to the Warriors' DUMP Strategy we might be getting a Top 7 draft pick this year, too!
You'd rather they take over the land where Candlestick Park is?
Pier 32 is DIRECTLY UNDER the Bay Bridge. They can barely put a bar on pilings there, much less a stadium and parking lots. And it's a little bit of a hike from Caltrain to that location, or you'll have to squeeze onto the MUNI train with homebound commuters. I vastly prefer the location just to the south of AT&T Park.
