Be useful.
I was reading Tony Stubblebine's advice for young entrepreneurs...
The main takeaway is something I've heard Paul Graham say too: Be useful.
Actually, pg says Build something people want.
Same church, different pew.
Tony's other two pieces of advice -- work with interesting people and focus on the right things -- are easy to say but surprisingly hard to do consistently.
I also like the message of today's other post: it takes a good five years to achieve something meaningful.
Sounds pretty simple. But I'm guessing it's not all that simple. Or maybe it is.
"Before I studied the art, a punch to me was just like a punch, a kick just like a kick. After I learned the art, a punch was no longer a punch, a kick no longer a kick. Now that I've understood the art, a punch is just like a punch, a kick just like a kick." - Bruce Lee
