This is cool but remember that kayaks were originally made out of flexible sea lion skin over very thin strips of wood -- much closer to the Oru than the rigid plastic shells we think of as kayaks today.

So the name "origami kayak" isn't just clever marketing.
It really IS a kayak, even more than what we think are kayaks.
