I saw one of these this weekend in Monterey Bay, quite close in to shore. It had apparently swum all the way from Indonesia to feed on jellyfish. It does not have a shell, instead as the name suggests its carapace is covered by skin.

I've never seen a turtle without a shell before. Fascinating.
