CBO is predicting a recession
Rana Mumtaz stashed this in Economics!
Stashed in: Fear, Fixitfixitfixit!
It's not like 2008-2012 were great years for the average person.
On the other hand, no one can predict the future.
I remember economists in 1995 were predicting recession for the rest of the 1990s.
Instead we got an incredible boom.
No one can predict the future.
Agreed.... But we don't need more bad news at this time!
Prof. Siegel predicts the Dow to hit 15000 by the end of 2013... Some good news!

Humanity is more optimistic than pessimistic. It's in our nature.
I'm not sure how productive looking at big scale economic predictions is. Often the only info conveyed is THE WORLD WILL SUCK. I think they just scare or depress us and they're all too often inaccurate.
Even in a recession, many industries are up. Even in a boom, some industries are still down. I think it's better to look at sectors and relevant areas of interest that actually affect one's life.
I always thought governments and corporations like to scare us because the emotion of fear gets us to consume more, which is good for the economy.
