Whoa, cool. What did I just see???
Gorgeous and eerie, like a dreamscape? Here's the background:
In Karst Country, the video below (above), Glen Ryan takes the tried-and-true nature time-lapse to a new level, using infrared filters to photograph invisible wavelengths of light. The result is a gorgeous montage of landscapes, the hills and skies of the countryside near Wee Jasper, Australia, captured in eerie black and white hues. The video is part of a larger project also called Karst Country -- referring to the limestone rock formations in the area -- pairing Ryan's infrared images with colorful landscape paintings by Phil Ryan. On Vimeo, Ryan notes that he plans to turn the short, created for a gallery exhibit, into a longer piece in collaboration with James van der Moezel. Check out more still images on the project's site and be sure to watch the video full screen in HD.
Tremendously cool. Thanks Geege.
