Making a raised flower bed out of concrete blocks might be a cheap and easy way to build a garden
Cinder blocks are great for herb gardens.
Why is that?
In the South, they provide good drainage and insulation to keep the roots cool. Good drainage is important no matter where you live.
And they act as an elevated bed, as any container would.
Added benefits of using cinder blocks in the garden: They're inexpensive, they don't rot and they don't blow over!
Excellent tips!

How the dirt stays in:
"The bottoms are screens, cut to size and glued on with a water-resistent glue. The cinder blocks are also glued together."
I love this concept.
Me too. Beautiful AND functional.
