From Paris à Hawai'i: week 1 - Imgur
Hello there, the left telescope is the one I'm working on for a 3 months internship! This the top of Mauna Kea, on Hawai'i's (''''''') Big Island. The left one (mine!) is the Subaru Telescope, the two twins are the Kecks (map: http://goo.gl/maps/jDKKY ) .
Last thursday partial eclipse: the moon between the sun and us.I took this one on the top too. It's freaking cold up there. It's actually the biggest world mountain (shield volcano):10km (33,500 ft) from its oceanic base, and 4,205 m (13,796 ft ) above sea level.
So to warm up a bit, we go to the Hilo's beaches! The sand is black because it's washed lava rock.
Sometimes I find weird places when biking around.A dark tunnel? Let's go into it! Just turned left and...
... a paradise! This is the kind of things you find by mistake in Hilo.

These images are spectacular!
Thanks!Btw, why are the descriptions automatically transformed into links?
Web philosophy: if we can create a link, we will. You can go back in an edit the links out if you want.
Well, if you link everything, there's no link anymore because everything is from the same web already. The pleasure is higher with the first contact isn't it? Link your fingers to your nose, it's cool, faster nose scratching, but what about butt scratching then?
True. Will get better at linking to different things as we improve PandaWhale's technology.
