How to Coil Cables
Adam Rifkin stashed this in RTFM!
This is the most common way of coiling a cable. It looks nice but each coil makes a twist.
If instead you alternate the direction of each twist they cancel each other out.
If you're left handed, just start with the cable in your right hand.
1) Start with the cable in you left hand pointing towards you. 2) Do a regular loop with the right hand. 3) Put your palm against the cable with your thumb pointing downwards. 4) Grab the cable. 5) Bring it back up into you left hand and let it twist slowly as you do so. 6) Start at #2 again until your done (one regular coil, one twisted coil etc).
1) Start with the cable in you left hand pointing towards you. 2) Do a regular loop with the right hand. 3) Instead of letting it go, pull back across your thumb like your aiming a bow and arrow. 4) Put your left palm down 90°. 5) Roll your right thumb towards you half a turn. This will cause the cable to twist as you tuck it into your left hand. 6) Start at #2 again until your done (one regular coil, one twisted coil etc).
