Explained in 90 Seconds: How Climate Change Fuels Wildfires - James West - The Atlantic Cities
Geege Schuman stashed this in Climate Change
The US and Canada have been dealing with massive wildfires for centuries. According to Internet sources, fire control past policy was to let them burn themselves out as long as they didn't cause deaths. It seems that now it is necessary for governments to spend a fortune to try to protect the properties of those who wish to live in areas known to be ripe for wildfires. It is foolishness. I guess I feel similarly about those who live on hillsides known for frequent mudslides. They expect everyone else to be responsible for their foolish preferences.
