Color in art How did colors change through centuries of painting? How can pigments themselves reflect art movements features and provide comparisons between them? This visualization, published as part of a report on art history, tries to answer those questions by displaying colors from relevant pictures of specific eras. Its results derive from two different data sets: firstly, the color list from a single picture, focusing on the artist's unique style; next, a large set of representative paintings from the same movement, mixed altogether in order to discover their similarities.
